Into the wild July 12, 2005

I met Wile E. Coyote on my run this morning! Yep, a coyote on the tracks. Usually the most wildlife I see is birds, squirrels, and rabbits. We were running in opposite directions and the coyote was so quiet I didn’t notice him until he was almost right in front of me. We just looked at each other and kept on running. I looked back over my shoulder at him and saw he was doing the same. It’s actually the second coyote I’ve seen this week. I saw one the other day on the tracks when I was riding home from work. It’s a little strange because although I live in the foothills of the mountains, there’s at least 5-6 miles of houses between me and the wilderness. We used to see them all the time when I was growing up…back in the “old” days before they started building on the foothills. :)

Anyway…2 mile run this morning. A little slower than usual but still a good run. My left ankle and my right calf were twingey. An uneventful ride to work this morning which is a good thing. It was already 72 so it looks like it’s going to be another hot one. Thankfully, it was only 90 by the time I left work last night. Now, I’m starting to long for those cold winter days. Of course, when it was cold and rainy, I was longing for the hot days of summer. LOL :)
